지금 병원에 계신데 매우 심각해"를
영어로 옮기면

위 제목과 같이 

"My uncle was in an automobile
accident. Now he's in the hospital
and he is very serious." 이라고
할 것 같은데

이 표현은 콩글리쉬 입니다.

'Someone is / becomes serious'

일 경우 'serious'의 의미는

'진지한(진심인) / 진지해지다' 입니다.

homework after that day.

('농담이 아니다'는 의미)

 

 

(예문 2)

 

She’s usually very cheerful,

and she loves to make jokes,

'serious'가

의료상의 상태(medical condition)를

가리킬 때는 '심각한 위험 또는 불편을

수반하는 고통'의 의미를 갖고 있으며

 

이 경우

'someone is serious'로 사용하지 않고
